Patna Law College

Established in July 1909, Patna Law College emerged as a distinguished institution dedicated solely to legal education. Before its founding, legal studies were conducted at Patna College. Initially affiliated with Calcutta University until 1917, the college seamlessly transitioned its affiliation to Patna University upon its establishment that year. Until January 1, 1952, Patna Law College operated as a government institution, functioning independently. Subsequently, it gained status as a constituent college of Patna University under the Patna University Act of 1951.

This centre of higher education has a rich legacy, having produced notable legal luminaries such as two Chief Justices of India, Mr. Justice B.P. Sinha and Mr. Justice L.M. Sharma, and the First Attorney General of India from Bihar, Sri Lal Narain Sinha. Part I, Part II, and Part III), students are awarded their Law Degree.
